Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Weeks: 52 weeks per year
Salary: Competitive(depending on experience) 
Holiday: Up to 29 days plus bank holidays

The Role

As Associate Managing Director, you will support the Managing Director in leading the overall business, translating strategic goals into execution, and ensuring operational excellence across the company.  

This role has with responsibility for driving performance, managing key initiatives, and stepping in for the Managing Director when required.

You will need to be highly organised, pro-active, able to work under pressure and most importantly act with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the organisation’s success.


Key Responsibilities

 Strategic Execution

  • ‍Support the Managing Director in developing and delivering company strategy

  • Turn high-level objectives into actionable business plans

  • Monitor progress against strategic goals and adjust as needed

‍ Operational Oversight

  • ‍Oversee day-to-day business operations across multiple departments

  • Work closely with functional leaders (e.g. Operations, Finance, Sales, Team Leaders) to ensure alignment

  • Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to processes and performance

Leadership & Team Management

  • ‍Provide leadership and direction to team leaders  

  • Foster a high-performance culture with accountability and clear KPIs

  • Support succession planning and leadership development

‍ Financial & Commercial Performance

  • ‍Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

  • Monitor financial performance and support revenue and profitability targets

  • Evaluate commercial opportunities, partnerships, and investments

‍ Stakeholder Engagement

  • ‍Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Represent the business in meetings, negotiations, and industry settings when required

  • Support communication between the Managing Director and the wider organisation

  • Support communication and networking across TLG and its companies

‍ Governance & Risk Management

  • ‍Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies

  • Identify and mitigate business risks

  • Support corporate governance and reporting requirements

  • Act as the company’s DPO, ensuring compliance in all areas

Deputy to the Managing Director

  • ‍Act as second-in-command and decision-maker in the MD’s absence

  • Lead critical projects or transformation initiatives

  • Provide input on major business decisions and long-term planning

Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven senior leadership experience (e.g. Director, Head of Department, or equivalent)

  • Strong commercial and financial acumen

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex operations

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to execute effectively

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to operate at both a strategic and hands-on level

Reporting Line

  • Reports directly to the Managing Director

  • Typically oversees multiple department heads or senior managers
